In this year's edition of the Banach NAWA programme 3587 applications were submitted and 443 scholarships were awarded.

Scholarship holders are exempt from tuition fees (at public universities) and receive a monthly NAWA scholarship in the amount of PLN 1,500 to cover the cost of living during their education in Poland. The list of this edition’s scholarship recipients can be found HERE. Congratulations, everyone!

The number of applications submitted in this year's call shows that the program is becoming more and more popular - NAWA received over 1,500 more applications than last year.

The awarded beneficiaries origin from 34 different countries. As before, the largest groups of beneficiaries come from Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Palestine, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria and Belarus. For the first time there are scholarship holders from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The most popular fields of study among applicants were engineering and technical sciences as well as natural and social sciences. The largest group of scholarship holders will study in Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków and Poznań. Among the universities most often chosen by the applicants were: Warsaw University of Technology, Wrocław University of Technology, University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and University of Wrocław.

Banach Scholarship Programme is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA implemented uneder Polish Aid (a brand of Poland's development and humanitarian assistance), aimed at young people from developing countries who wish to take up studies in Poland. The objective of the Programme is to promote socio-economic progress of developing countries by raising the level of knowledge and education of their citizens in the form of scholarships for second-degree studies in Polish or in English at Polish universities supervised by the Minister of Education and Science in the field of engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences, exact sciences, and life sciences.

In addition, the citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan can complete second-degree studies in the fields of humanities and social sciences under the Programme, with the exception of philological studies in the field of the beneficiary’s native language.
